Why is From Car to Finish able to get lower prices?

Car to Finish works for you, the customer.  No dealer gives us any compensation whatsoever.  Because we work only for you, we have an inherent interest in doing what’s best for you to earn your present and future business.  Car to Finish utilizes a multi-bid process for each customer, and every dealer contacted knows they are always amongst several dealers competing for your business.  This makes them put their best foot forward, because they know they have only one chance to earn your business.  Because dealers never pay us anything to participate, they know they don’t have to worry about paying a referral fee and making it back on you, the buyer. They literally get a free referral for a few moments of their time. And that savings gets passed directly to you.

Does From Car to Finish negotiate used vehicles?

No.  Because no two used cars are alike when it comes to condition or mileage, there is no way to get comparable quotes from dealers.

What about my trade-in?

If you were in the market to buy a used car, you wouldn’t look in the classifieds, pick one, and make an offer without seeing it, right?  Neither would a dealer.  Until you show them your trade in, they can’t evaluate its condition to give an accurate offer.  When you place your order with From Car to Finish, we CAN provide a rough estimate of the value of your trade-in based on your description to give you a starting point. 

Can you give me any advice on which vehicle to buy?

The Car to Finish website was designed in part to provide you tools to research a vehicle, so as to compare potential choices and whittle them down to one that is best suited for you.  If you have some idea of what you want, but can’t decide on a specific vehicle, we can help.  Start at the "research a vehicle" box on our homepage to research and/or compare vehicles. 

Why doesn't From Car to Finish need color and options?  Don’t they matter so that I get what I want?

Of course they matter!  They just don’t get brought up until later in the process, after you receive your Car to Finish report.  Car to Finish negotiates a profit margin that a dealer will stick to regardless of color and options.  This way you can decide later what you’d like on the car, and still have the means to compute your bottom line no matter what is on the vehicle you end up choosing!  So you can change your mind 15 times on color and options, and still be able to come to a bottom-line price.  How cool is that?

How do I know the dealer will honor their quote?

Car to Finish only gets quotes from someone at a dealership who is in a position to decide on a vehicle price, and then honor that decision.  The person we talk to is also almost always the contact whose name we list in your Car to Finish report.  Furthermore, we ensure written confirmation of the lowest quote before sending a completed Car to Finish report to you. 

Will you go to the dealer with me?

No.  Much as we’d love to be there with you for support, the travel expenses would just be murder on our bottom line.  However, if after receiving and completely reading over our report you have any questions, we're happy to answer them to ensure that you understand everything you need to before contacting a dealer.  We completely understand that this is not a process people look forward to, and is something that most people do very infrequently.  We are always just a phone call away, and we are here to make it go as smoothly as possible.  But in the end, only you can close the deal.  Remember, it’s your deal.

Once I receive your report, does it matter who I deal with at the dealer?

Absolutely!  Each dealer’s quote has one or more contact names of people to deal with, should you choose to buy from them.  Those people are the only ones you should deal with, as they are the only ones who are familiar with the Car to Finish service.  If you start dealing with anyone else, you might negate the value of using the Car to Finish service by undoing what you paid us to do for you.  If you have any questions of concerns after receiving your report, always call or email us first, and we are more than happy to make sure you are doing things correctly. 

From Car to Finish says they'll contact at least 4 local dealers. What does that mean, exactly?

It means we start from a zip code you provide us, and go out in an expanding circle until we reach the nearest 4 dealers by proximity to that zip code.  At our discretion, we might call more, but we’ll never call less.  There’s no limit on distance.  For example, if you want a Lexus and live in New York City, the nearest 4 dealers might be within 20 miles.  But if you live in Montana, those same dealers might be the nearest 4 states.  Either way, that’s who we call.

Why would a dealer want to negotiate with From Car to Finish as opposed to an individual?

Several reasons.  We’re free to the dealer, take only a few minutes of their time, and in many cases, have brought them free referrals in the past.  All of these are very good incentives to want to participate again in the future with Car to Finish.  Dealers traditionally spend far more time with customers who walk in the door cold, and who are frequently not as serious and ready to buy a vehicle as Car to Finish customers are.  By comparison, Car to Finish is essentially bringing free, qualified leads to a dealer.  We ask only for a few minutes of a manager’s time, and in return, we give them a chance at a free referral.  For these reasons, virtually every dealer in the country will quote with us.

Am I under any obligation to buy the vehicle if I use the From Car to Finish service?  Are dealers expecting me to buy from them if you call on my behalf?

Absolutely not!  By using the Car to Finish service, your only obligation is to pay us our fee to negotiate your vehicle for you and provide you with a Car to Finish report.  You're completely anonymous to all dealers we call until you choose to contact them on your own after receiving your report.

What is the fee structure for the From Car to Finish service?

The fee for the service for Car to Finish to shop a single vehicle on your behalf is $249. If you would like Car to Finish to shop additional vehicles for you at the time you place your initial order, Car to Finish will shop additional vehicles of the same make at a 50% discount (a cost of $124 per vehicle), up to a total of 4 vehicles per order.  Additional vehicles of different makes, whether ordered at the same time or not, are $249 each.  

Does From Car to Finish have a guarantee?

From Car to Finish guarantees that we will get you the lowest selling price for a purchase on the vehicle you requested we shop for you, in the same time frame and geographic area the quotes apply to.  If we are unable to meet this guarantee, we'll happily refund the cost of your From Car to Finish report (minus a $10 credit card processing fee), with proof of purchase, and provided you don’t use our information or report as leverage to achieve a lower price.  This takes the risk out of trying out our service, as we have to be able to justify our fee each and every time we do our job.  The Lowest Price Guarantee shall not apply to a lease.
